Connie Ludwig, PhD

Connie Ludwig, Phd is a graduate of the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University) who specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents. She has had a wide breadth of clinical experiences, including school-based clinical work with elementary and middle school students and individual therapy with children, adolescents and young adults. Connie has worked with children with disruptive behaviors, anxiety, and depression.  She has also therapeutically supported children and adolescents as they moved through difficult life transitions.  In addition to psychotherapeutic work, Connie has extensive experience conducting child and adolescent psychodiagnostic assessments. Connie is currently available to conduct individual and family therapy as well as psychological assessments with children, adolescents and young adults.  Connie works under the supervision of Dr Kent Grelling as she completes the requirements for licensure as a psychologist in California.

Connie works from a collaborative and compassionate stance to help children and their families develop new strategies and solutions based on an understanding of the child’s current functioning and the developmental and neuropsychological roots of the problem.  Whether a child excels at or struggles with school, Connie works to promote a child’s emotional well-being and academic success through the use of culturally-sensitive and evidence-based practices in a warm and supportive environment.  She encourages children, adolescents and families to build on their strengths as they work to achieve their treatment goals.

Prior to graduate school, Connie worked as a residential counselor for Seneca Center in Oakland and provided extensive test preparatory and academic tutoring to families in the East Bay.  In graduate school, she has trained at Medical Hill Rehabilitation Center, the Guidance Clinic for Alameda County Behavioral Health Services, and the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center/University of California San Francisco.  She completed her predoctoral internship at the Psychological Services Center of Alliant International University, an APA accredited internship. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and has made presentations at the APA’s national conventions as well as to local parents groups.

Connie is from the Bay Area, attending schools in both San Francisco and Orinda.  Connie’s free time is often spent with her young family, though she enjoys reading, music, and dance in the free moments between diapers and homework.
